If you listen to many podcasts you may have heard of Ryan Hanley. He has been at it for a few years and has built a great community online.
In this episode 54 of the Nuclear Chowder Podcast Ryan declares Content Warfare. Ok, so he didn’t really declare warfare. I just wanted to add a little drama. But I digress.
I’ve been watching Ryan for a while now. I’ve gotten to know him online and IRL (in real life). When it comes to content marketing, there are not many better resources than Ryan.
We’re also joined by Ralph M. Rivera who originally pitched me the idea of Ryan being on the podcast as he gears up to launch his new book.
Ryan and I have a lot in common. We both started out in marketing by running a business of our own.
He worked in his wife’s family insurance company. I was a partner in a martial arts school.
He eventually found his way into the marketing of the business as I did. He used content marketing to grow the business. It’s like looking in a mirror, (sorry for the insult Ryan).
As time went on, he became more interested in the marketing than the business. 3 weeks ago he left the insurance business behind and now runs his own marketing agency. We’re practically brothers from another mother.
On this podcast we talk about:
- Super-fan activation
- Breaking out of the super-fan bubble
- You learn by doing
- Your original content connects with your audience
- And a lot more
Content is everything. There are two huge reasons that every business needs to be in the content business:
1: Getting found – Google has made it a requirement.
2: People demand it – When people search on Google they are looking for answers to their questions. They don’t want to be sold. Great content is the answer.
